Torotel's History
engineering and manufacturing For Highly reliable magnetic components and assemblies

History

Torotel Products, Inc. has been a leader in the design and manufacture of custom magnetics for the aerospace, defense and industrial sectors for more than 50 years. Our team of engineers has extensive experience designing diversified, high-reliability applications that can be found in space, underground and everywhere in between.

Torotel began in 1956 in the garage of Dale & Pauline Sizemore, parents of Torotel’s CEO Herb Sizemore, making magnetic components. In 1957, they moved manufacturing to their first location with their initial five employees. When Dale Sizemore passed away in 1993, he had grown the company to 70 employees which had expanded to manufacture parts for the defense, aerospace and energy industries.

Torotel has continued to grow and evolve. Today, the company has engineered and manufactured more than 33,000 custom magnetic component designs and assemblies using both client “recipes” and black box design parameters. A flexible manufacturing environment has evolved to produce consistently high-quality components significantly faster than the average manufacturer.

The company currently employs approximately 150 at its facilities in Olathe, Kansas.
